Want your research to be accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world, without paying hefty publication fees? We have great news for the international community at the University of Sopron: the Elsevier-EISZ agreement is active for 2026, allowing our researchers to publish Open Access at no cost.
In today’s academic world, Open Access (OA) is the gold standard. It ensures your work gets more downloads, higher visibility, and more citations. Usually, this comes with an "Article Processing Charge" (APC), but thanks to our institutional agreement, you can skip the bill.
What’s the Deal for 2026?
For this year, a total of 1,050 articles can be published Open Access across the consortium (including the University of Sopron) without any APC fees. This opportunity is available for articles accepted between January 1st and December 31st, 2026.
To take advantage of this funding, keep these three main requirements in mind:
- Be the "Corresponding Author": You must be the person submitting the manuscript and handling the communication with the publisher. Make sure you are designated as the corresponding author right from the initial submission.
- Use Your Sopron Affiliation: The system identifies you based on your university. Pro tip: When filling out the "Rights and Access" form, do not type the university name manually. Select "University of Sopron" from the drop-down list to ensure the system recognizes your eligibility.
- Check Your Article Type: Most scientific formats are covered, including:
- Full-length articles & Review articles
- Case reports & Protocols
- Software publications & Data in Brief
- Short communications & Video articles
The agreement covers a wide range of Elsevier’s Hybrid and Gold Open Access journals. Your work will be protected under Creative Commons (CC-BY or CC-BY-NC-ND) licenses, ensuring you retain the rights you need.
