As part of the University of Sopron’s efforts to make the spring break both relaxing and enriching, the International Office organized a special excursion for international students, combining nature, culture, and community experiences.
The highlight of the program was the ceremonial opening of the Várhely Lookout Tower, attended by distinguished guests upon the invitation of Tanulmányi Erdőgazdaság Zrt. (TAEG). The event offered students a unique opportunity to take part in a significant local occasion while enjoying the breathtaking panorama of the surrounding landscape.

Following the ceremony, the group continued their journey with a visit to the Erdő Háza, where they could learn more about the region’s rich natural heritage. The excursion provided not only knowledge but also a refreshing escape from everyday academic life.
Spending time in nature proved especially beneficial for the students, offering both physical and mental rejuvenation. The experience of hiking through the forest and encountering animals up close brought joy and a sense of calm—reminding everyone that nature has a powerful, positive effect on the soul.
This spring break program once again highlighted the importance of community, exploration, and well-being, ensuring that international students feel connected not only to the university, but also to the natural and cultural environment of Sopron.
