On September 26, the University of Sopron opened its doors to the public for this year’s Researchers’ Night, a celebration of science, curiosity, and hands-on learning. The event offered visitors of all ages a chance to explore the fascinating world of research through experiments, interactive demonstrations, and engaging activities. From books that told their stories to drones soaring through the air and test tubes bubbling with colorful reactions, the evening was filled with wonder and discovery.
This year, the event also highlighted the international dimension of the University of Sopron. Two of our Chinese students hosted a dedicated corner where they taught participants how to write in Chinese. This unique activity not only introduced visitors to a new language but also showcased the cultural diversity of the university community, making the night even more memorable for attendees.
Throughout the evening, participants had the opportunity to meet researchers, ask questions, and engage directly with scientific experiments, making science accessible and exciting for everyone. Interactive games, demonstrations, and challenges encouraged visitors to think critically, explore new concepts, and experience the thrill of discovery firsthand.
Researchers’ Night at the University of Sopron continues to be an important platform for promoting scientific literacy and fostering curiosity among young people and adults alike. By combining education, creativity, and fun, the event inspires future generations to explore the world of research while also highlighting the international character of the university.
With events like this, the University of Sopron strengthens its commitment to science outreach, international engagement, and community involvement, ensuring that curiosity and learning remain at the heart of university life
