Building on their long-standing relationship, the University of Sopron and the Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) are set to deepen and enhance their partnership further in the summer of 2025. This is a mutually benefitial situation for both institutions: the cooperation will provide a major step forward for the parties in the fields of education and research.
During a recent two-day visit, the leaders of the Vietnamese university—Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dien, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Sam, Director of the International Cooperation Office—engaged in numerous professional discussions at the University of Sopron.
One of the key topics discussed was the development of joint academic projects, particularly in the areas of natural resource management and the wood industry. Both institutions agreed that these initiatives could significantly contribute to the development of sustainable resource management practices and the training of young professionals.
Additionally, the parties committed to promoting joint research and development (R&D) activities, specifically in areas such as climate change, biodiversity, and innovation in the wood industry. They plan to formulate collaborative proposals in both scientific research and student and staff mobility. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of continued growth and expanding their shared international experiences.
